Dear Writer Friends,
We’re at the halfway point of the year, and if your year has looked anything like mine, I’m sure the first half of 2026 has had some unexpected twists and turns.
Personally, I’ve found it a wee bit difficult to stay consistent with writing this blog and my LinkedIn posts.
Sometimes I’m busy.
Sometimes I don’t know what to write.
Sometimes I just don’t wanna.
I’m sure you can say similar things when it comes to your writing projects.
Writing is a creative and mental activity. It requires time, effort, focus, inspiration, and motivation. If you set the goal of writing a book this year and have found yourself “behind schedule,” please extend yourself grace and consider the many other wonderful things you’ve accomplished so far this year.
I don’t know your story, but I do know that when it comes to writing stories, it’s impossible to account for all the curveballs life will throw your way.
Maybe this year you’ve found yourself busier than usual and too tired to write.
Maybe you’ve been feeling a little unmotivated or uninspired.
Maybe you feel like you’ve run out of words and have absolutely nothing to say.
Maybe you’ve been sidetracked and distracted by all of the million and one other things that need to be done.
I’m writing to remind you that it’s not too late to begin or finish your story, and that your story is still very much worth telling.
If 2026 is the year you said you’d write your book and you haven’t started—or you started and haven’t finished—consider this your mid-year check-in.
You have six months ahead of you. There’s still time on the clock. Remember your why, lock in, and do what you said you’d do.
At the very least, start.
It doesn’t have to be big or dramatic.
Just do at least one thing for your story today.
Your future readers are waiting on you.
Rooting for you always,
